Inauguration of 7-Day NSS Special Camp
Yanam, 24th December 2024: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam, successfully inaugurated its 7-Day NSS Special Camp today at the college seminar hall. The camp, themed “Empowered Youth for a Sustainable Future,” aims to instill values of social responsibility, environmental consciousness, and community engagement among students.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. VVLP Raju, HOD/First year,Incharge Principal of the college, and the Chief Guest was Mr. Ch. K. Sudhakar, Regional NSS Coordinator, Yanam. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address by Dr. A. Jayaveeran, NSS Program Officer.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ch. K. Sudhakar emphasized the importance of youth involvement in nation-building and the role of NSS in shaping responsible citizens. Incharge Principal Mr. VVLP Raju encouraged the volunteers to actively participate in all activities and highlighted the transformative potential of community service.
Over the next seven days, NSS volunteers will engage in various activities, including health and hygiene awareness campaigns, environmental drives, tree plantation, skill development workshops, and cultural programs aimed at fostering unity and social harmony.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NSS volunteers, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants for their support and encouragement.
The NSS Special Camp will run from 24th to 30th December 2024, with activities focusing on making a sustainable impact on the local community.

Health and Hygiene Day Observed on Day 2 of NSS Special Camp

Yanam, 25th December 2024: As part of the ongoing 7-Day NSS Special Camp organized by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam, Day 2 was dedicated to the theme of “Health and Hygiene.”

The day began with a session on Meditation and Yoga, aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being among NSS volunteers and participants. Guided by Dr. A. JayaveeranNSS Program Officer, the session emphasized the importance of mindfulness and fitness in daily life. The incharge principal Mr. VVLP RAJU felicitated the volunteers and the volunteers expressed their enthusiasm for incorporating these practices into their routines.

In the afternoon, NSS volunteers actively participated in a series of cleaning drives focused on improving the local environment:

Jungle Cleaning: Clearing overgrown areas to promote cleanliness and prevent pests.

Campus Cleaning: Ensuring a clean and healthy environment within the college premises.

Drainage Cleaning: Addressing blockages to improve sanitation and prevent waterlogging in the community.

These initiatives were aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness and its impact on overall health and hygiene. The volunteers worked diligently, setting an example for the local community to adopt and maintain hygienic practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A. Jayaveeran, NSS Program Officer, praised the efforts of the volunteers and highlighted the role of youth in building a clean and healthy society.

Day 3 (26-07-2024)

The third day of the NSS Special Camp at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam, centered around the theme “Towards a Greener and Cleaner India” and featured impactful activities to promote environmental sustainability and awareness.

Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam welcomed the gathering, Mr. KVV సత్యనారాయణ, State vice president and state convenor for Environmental Committee , Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV), Yanam, served as the Chief Guest, and the program was presided over by Mr. VVLP Raju, In-charge Principal of the college.

In addition to the Chief Guest, the event featured a panel of experts from JVV Yanam, including:

The morning session commenced with a tree plantation drive on the college campus, emphasizing the importance of increasing green cover and adopting sustainable practices. The session also included expert talks, during which the Chief Guest and the panel shared valuable insights on topics such as reducing waste, combating climate change, and the role of youth in achieving environmental sustainability.

Mr. KVV Satyanarayana urged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and work collectively towards a greener future. The expert panel further enriched the event by providing practical solutions to pressing environmental concerns.

In the afternoon session, a rally was organized in Metakur Ganapathy Nagar village, where NSS volunteers actively participated in raising awareness among the local community. Carrying banners and raising slogans on reducing single-use plastic and addressing environmental concerns, the volunteers highlighted the urgent need for community involvement in protecting the environment.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, experts, and participants for their support and contributions.

The NSS Special Camp will continue with various activities in the coming days, including skill development, women empowerment, and health awareness programs, further reinforcing its commitment to societal development.

NSS Special Camp – Day 5 Highlights
Theme: Empowerment of Youth and Women Safety

The 7-day NSS Special Camp at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam, continued with impactful programs on 3rd January 2025, centered around the theme “Empowerment of Youth and Women Safety”. The day’s sessions aimed at equipping students and volunteers with skills and knowledge for personal and societal growth.

Morning Session: Career Guidance

The day began with an enlightening Career Guidance Session led by the distinguished alumnus Mr. Aditya Dhulipudi, Senior Manager at Keyloop, Hyderabad. Mr. Aditya, an ECE graduate from the 2005 batch, shared his professional journey and provided insights into digital literacy, emerging career trends, and the role of adaptability in achieving career success.

The session was presided over by Principal Mr. P. Velayutham, who inspired students to seize opportunities for growth and excellence. Mr. A. Chandrasegaran, HoD/CE, and Mr. VVLP Raju, HoD/First Year, felicitated the chief guest for his valuable contribution to the program.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students and volunteers posing questions about skill development and industry expectations.

Afternoon Session: Mission Shakti – Women Safety and Empowerment

The afternoon session, organized in collaboration with the Women and Child Welfare Department as part of Good Governance Week, focused on Mission Shakti initiatives. The session covered critical topics, including Cyber Threats for Women Safety and Sanitary Hygiene, addressing significant concerns affecting women and youth.

Presided over by Mr. A. Chandrasegaran, HoD/CE, the session featured:

Ms. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi and Ms. K. Punya Lakshmi, Gender Specialists, who discussed measures to ensure women’s safety in the digital age.

Ms. A. Tejaswi, Financial Literacy Specialist, who emphasized the importance of financial independence and security.

Ms. V. Satya Sudha, Accounts Officer, who highlighted welfare schemes available for youth and women.

The speakers provided valuable insights into fostering safety and empowerment while encouraging active participation from students and volunteers.

A Day of Empowerment

Both sessions reflected the NSS’s commitment to empowering youth and ensuring the safety and well-being of women. By addressing pressing issues and providing actionable guidance, the camp continues to inspire positive change in the community.
