AAsha Bhosle is a renowned Bollywood singer. She was born on September 8, 1933, in the village of Gore in Sangli, Maharashtra, into a musical family. Her father was Dinanath Mangeshkar and her mother was Sudhamati. Her father was an actor and a singer. Asha has three sisters and one brother. When she was nine years old, her father passed away, and the family faced severe financial difficulties.
They moved to Bombay, where she began singing in films. Her first song was in a Bengali film, titled “Chala Chala Nav Bala.” Her career, which began in 1943, continued successfully for about sixty years. During this period, she sang songs in around 1,000 Bollywood films, and gained wide recognition.
Her career took a major turn in 1956 when she sang for O. P. Nayyar’s film C.I.D., after which she became very popular. She sang in many successful films, including the hit song “Dum Maro Dum” from Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Later, she worked extensively with R. D. Burman, and due to their close association, she married him in 1980. R. D. Burman passed away in 1994.
From the soulful ghazals to the foot-tapping cabaret numbers of the 70s, Asha’s range remains unparalleled. Her collaboration with legends like R.D. Burman, O.P. Nayyar, and A.R. Rahman redefined the sound of Bollywood. Her entry into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history is a testament to her tireless dedication.
Beyond films, her pop albums and international collaborations have made her a global icon. Awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, she continues to inspire generations of aspiring vocalists with her youthful energy and technical perfection.
Another famous singer, Lata Mangeshkar, is her sister. Asha Bhosle is highly skilled in singing film songs, pop music, ghazals, bhajans, Indian classical music, folk songs, and qawwalis.

భారతీయ సంగీత ప్రపంచంలో ఆశా భోంస్లే ఒక అద్భుతం. ఆశా భోస్లే ప్రముఖ బాలీవుడ్ గాయని. ఈమె సెప్టెంబర్ 8, 1933లో మహారాష్ట్రకు చెందిన సాంగ్లీలోని గోర్ అనే గ్రామంలో ఒక సంగీత కుటుంబంలో జన్మించింది. తండ్రి దీనానాధ్ మంగేష్కర్ తల్లి సుధామతి. ఈమె తండ్రి నటుడు మరయు గాయకుడు. ఆశాకు ముగ్గురు చెల్లుళ్లు, ఒకసోదరుడు ఉన్నారు. తొమ్మిది సంవత్సరల వయసులో తండ్రి మరణిస్తాడు. అప్పటికి వీరి కుటుంబం బీదరికంతో బాధపడుతుంది. ఎనిమిది దశాబ్దాలకు పైగా తన గాత్రంతో కోట్లాది మందిని అలరిస్తున్నారు. దాదాపు 20కి పైగా భారతీయ మరియు విదేశీ భాషల్లో వేలాది పాటలను పాడి రికార్డు సృష్టించారు.

తరువాత 1956లో ఓ పి నయ్యర్ సినిమా సి ఐ డి సినిమాతో ఈమె దశ తిరుగుతుంది. చాలా పేరుపొందిన సినిమాలలో పాటలు పాడుతుంది. హరేరామ హరే కృష్ణలోని ధమ్మారే ధమ్. తరువాత ఆర్ డి బర్మన్ సినిమాలలో పాడుతూ అతనితో ఏర్పడిన సాన్నిహిత్యం వలన ఆర్ డి బర్మన్ ను 1980 సంవత్సరంలో వివాహం చేసుకుంటుంది. ఆర్ డి బర్మన్ 1994లో మరణిస్తాడు.
మరో ప్రముఖ గాయనియైన లతా మంగేష్కర్ ఈమె సోదరి. సినిమా సంగీతం, పాప్ సంగీతం, గజల్స్, భజన పాటలతోపాటు భారత సాంప్రదాయ సంగీతం, జానపదాలు, ఖవ్వాలీ పాటలను పాడటంలో సిద్ధహస్తురాలు.
క్లాసికల్ పాటల నుండి హుషారైన పాప్ సాంగ్స్ వరకు ఆమె పలకని రాగం లేదు. ముఖ్యంగా ఆర్.డి. బర్మన్, ఓ.పి. నయ్యర్ వంటి దిగ్గజ సంగీత దర్శకులతో ఆమె చేసిన ప్రయోగాలు భారతీయ సినిమా గమనాన్నే మార్చేశాయి. ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యధిక పాటలు పాడిన గాయనిగా గిన్నిస్ బుక్ ఆఫ్ వరల్డ్ రికార్డ్స్లో ఆమె పేరు నిలిచిపోయింది.
