International Friendship Day is observed every year on July 30. As the name suggests, the day celebrates friendship, the bond of love and trust that exists between two human beings who are otherwise not connected through lineage and heredity.
In 2011, the UN proclaimed the International Day of Friendship with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, and cultures can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The UN wanted for the day to involve young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity.
On Friendship Day, you can also take time to spend with your families. After all, they are your first friends. Be friendly to your parents and siblings. Spend time with them, and share special moments so that year later when you look back you will only see happy times.

స్నేహమేరా జీవితం..స్నేహమేరా శాశ్వతం అనే ఓ తెలుగు పాట నిత్యం వింటుంటాం. అయితే ఈ రోజు అంటే జూలై 30వ తేదీన ఈపాటను మరోసారి గుర్తు చేసుకుంటున్నాం. కారణం జూలై 30వ తేదీ అంతర్జాతీయ స్నేహితుల దినోత్సవం. ఇంగ్లీషులో ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫ్రెండ్షిప్డే అని పిలుస్తున్నాం.స్నేహం అనేది ప్రపంచంలో అత్యంత విలువైన సంబంధంగా పరిగణించబడుతుంది. ఇది రక్తసంబంధం కాకపోయినప్పటికీ మనుషుల హృదయాంతరంలో నుంచి పుట్టుకొస్తుంది. ఒక వ్యక్తిని ఒంటరి తనం అనే అనుభూతి నుంచి బయటకు తీసుకొచ్చేదే స్నేహం. మనిషి పుట్టుక నుంచి మరణించే వరకు ఎవరు వెంట ఉన్నా లేకున్నా.. ఎవరు తోడున్నా లేకున్నా.. స్నేహం మాత్రం చివరివరకు ఉంటుంది.
అంతర్జాతీయ స్నేహితుల దినోత్సవం ఎలా వచ్చింది..?
జాతి, రంగు, లింగం, ప్రాంతం, మతం అనే అంశాలతో సంబంధం లేకుండా వివిధ దేశాల ప్రజల మధ్య బలమైన స్నేహం ఏర్పడాలనే మంచి ఉద్దేశంతో 2011లో ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి జనరల్ అసెంబ్లీ అంతర్జాతీయ సమావేశాన్ని నిర్వహించి అంతర్జాతీయ స్నేహితుల దినోత్సవం ప్రకటించింది.హింసను తిరస్కరించి, మంచి విలువలు, శాంతితో కూడిన మెరుగైన సమాజనిర్మాణం కోసం అంతర్జాతీయ స్నేహితుల దినోత్సవంను యూనెస్కో ప్రతిపాదించింది.అంతేకాదు రెండు దేశాల మధ్య పొరపచ్చాలు, వైషమ్యాలు తొలిగిపోయి కలిసి మెలిసి ఉండాలన్న లక్ష్యంతో ఈ ప్రతిపాదన తీసుకొచ్చింది.
