Breaking free from the shackles of outdated patriarchal ideologies, women today are moving forward. Setting high goals and stepping into every field with countless hopes for the future, they are striving for progress. At the same time, however, heinous crimes against them are increasing both inside and outside the home, becoming the main obstacles to women’s empowerment. In a male-dominated society that tries to shatter women’s self-confidence and pull back their progress, there is no dearth of those who derive perverse pleasure by making obscene and vulgar remarks about women’s bodies. The Kerala High Court has recently ruled that any words deliberately intended to insult the dignity of women will fall under the category of sexual harassment. Similarly, the Sessions Court in Mumbai had earlier delivered a similar progressive judgment. According to NCRB statistics, in 2022 alone, 4.45 lakh cases related to crimes against women were registered, of which nearly 19 percent were offenses against their dignity and honor. It is inexcusable that even political leaders—who should act as responsible guides for society—resort to inappropriate remarks against women.
బూజుపట్టిన పితృస్వామ్య భావజాల బంధనాలను ఛేదించుకుంటూ నేడు మహిళలు ముందడుగు వేస్తున్నారు. ఉన్నత లక్ష్యాలను నిర్దేశించుకుంటూ భవిష్యత్తుపై కోటి ఆశలతో వారు అన్ని రంగాల్లోకి ప్రవేశిస్తున్నారు. అదే సమయంలో ఇంటా బయటా వారిపై హేయ నేరాలు పెరిగిపోతున్నాయి. మహిళా సాధికారతకు అవే ప్రధాన అవరోధాలవుతున్నాయి. స్త్రీల ఆత్మవిశ్వా సాన్ని దెబ్బతీసి, వారి పురోగతిని వెనక్కి లాగాలనుకునే పురుషాధిక్య సమాజంలో- మహిళల శరీరాకృతులపై ఆశ్లీల, అసభ్య వ్యాఖ్యలు చేస్తూ వికృతానందం. పొందే వారికి కొదవలేదు. మహిళల గౌరవానికి ఉద్దేశపూర్వకంగా భంగం కలిగించే మాటలేవైనా లైంగిక వేధింపుల కిందకే వస్తాయని కేరళ హైకోర్టు తాజాగా తేల్చిచెప్పింది. ముంబైలోని సెషన్స్ కోర్టు సైతం గతంలో ఇలాంటి మేలిమి తీర్పునే వెలువరించింది. ఎన్సీఆర్బీ లెక్కల ప్రకారం, 2022లో మహిళలపై నేరాలకు సంబంధించి 4.45 లక్షల కేసులు నమోదయ్యాయి. ఇందులో దాదాపు 19శాతం స్త్రీల గౌరవ మర్యాదలకు విఘాతం కలిగించినవే ప్రజలకు మార్గదర్శ కులుగా బాధ్యతాయుతంగా వ్యవహరించాల్సిన రాజకీయ నాయకులూ స్త్రీలపై అనుచిత వ్యాఖ్యలు చేస్తుండటం క్షమార్హం కాదు!.
స్త్రీని ఆదిపరాశక్తిగా భావించి ఆరాదించే భారతావనిలో మహిళలపై గంటకు దాదాపు 51 అకృత్యాలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. చేవచచ్చిన వ్యవస్థ సాక్షిగా రోజుకు 86 అత్యాచారాలు చోటుచేసుకుంటున్నాయి. దేశీయంగా పని ప్రదేశాల్లో స్త్రీలపై లైంగిక వేధింపులకు సంబంధించి అధికారికంగా ఏటా నాలుగు వందలకు పైగా కేసులు నమోదవుతున్నాయి. వెలుగులోకి రానివి ఇంకెన్నో ఉంటాయి. ఆ దాష్టీకాలకు తాళలేక ఆపార ప్రతిభ ఉన్నా ఎంతోమంది మహిళలు ఉద్యోగాలకు దూరమై ఇళ్లకు పరిమితమవుతు న్నారు. తాము చవిచూసిన చేదు అనుభవాలను వెల్లడిస్తూ న్యాయంకోసం నిరుడు మహిళా రెజ్లర్లు రోడ్డెక్కడం క్రీడారంగంలోనూ వెర్రితలలు వేస్తున్న విష సంస్కృతిని కళ్లకు కట్టింది. ఓ ప్రొఫెసర్ వికృత చర్యలపై హరియాణాలోని చౌదరీ దేవీలాల్ వర్సిటీ విద్యార్ధినులు నిరుడు గవర్నర్, సీఎం, జాతీయ మహిళా కమిషన్కు మొర పెట్టుకున్నారు. ఇలా ఎక్కడి కక్కడ పాఠశాలలూ కళాశాలల్లోనూ కీచకులు తిష్ఠవేసి ఆడపిల్లలను కాల్పు కుతింటున్నారు. సామాజిక మాధ్యమాలూ స్త్రీల వ్యక్తిత్వహననానికి వేదికల వుతున్నాయి. మహిళలపై మానసిక, శారీరక దాడులకు పురిగొల్పుతున్న లింగ వివక్ష- యావద్దేశానికి తలవంపులు తెస్తోంది!

The decayed system bears witness to an average of 86 rapes occurring every single day. Officially, over 400 cases of workplace sexual harassment against women are registered each year across the country—yet countless more remain unreported. Unable to endure such atrocities, many highly talented women are forced to withdraw from employment and remain confined to their homes. In a powerful statement, women wrestlers recently took to the streets, sharing their bitter experiences and demanding justice, exposing the toxic culture poisoning even the field of sports. At Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Haryana, students lodged complaints with the Governor, Chief Minister, and National Commission for Women against the perverse actions of a professor. Similarly, in schools and colleges across the nation, predators lurk, preying on young girls. Social media, too, has become a platform for the character assassination of women. Gender discrimination, which fuels both psychological and physical assaults on women, is bringing disgrace upon the entire nation.
స్త్రీల సారథ్యంలో అభివృద్ధి బాటలో పురోగమించే దశకు భారత్ చేరు కుందని ప్రధాని మోదీ గతంలో వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. అయితే, ఆర్ధిక కార్యక లాపాల్లో మహిళల భాగస్వామ్యం ఇనుమడించాలంటే- పని ప్రదేశాల్లో వారికి తగిన భద్రత కల్పించాలి. ఇందుకోసం అన్ని సంస్థల్లోనూ అంతర్గత పిర్యాదుల కమిటీలు కొలువు తీరాలి. చిన్నపిల్లల పై లైంగిక నేరాల విచారణకు ప్రత్యేక కోర్టులు ఏర్పాటైనా, రెండు లక్షలకు పైగా పోక్సో కేసులు ప్రస్తుతం పెండింగులో పడి ఉన్నాయి. కేసుల పరిష్కారంలో తీవ్ర జాప్యం నేరగాళ్లకు అయాచిత వరమవుతోంది. దోషులకు త్వరితగతిన శిక్షలు పడి తేనే బాదితులకు సరైన రక్షణ లభిస్తుంది. బహిరంగ ప్రదేశాల్లో మహిళ లను వేధిస్తున్న వారిని పోలీసులు అడపాదడపా అదుపులోకి తీసుకుంటు న్నారు. అలాంటి వారిలో మైనర్లు పెద్దసంఖ్యలో ఉండటం- నైతిక విద్యా బోదన ఆవశ్యకతను పట్టిచూపుతోంది. అబ్బాయిలైనా, అమ్మాయిలైనా అందరూ సమానులేనన్న ప్రగతిశీల భావాలకు ప్రతి ఇంట్లో మన్నన దక్కినప్పుడే నిజమైన మహిళా అభ్యున్నతి సాధ్యపడుతుంది!
Prime Minister Modi once remarked that India is moving toward a stage where development will advance under the leadership of women. However, for women’s participation in economic activities to truly strengthen, they must be assured of proper safety in the workplace. For this, Internal Complaints Committees must be established in every institution. Although special courts have been set up to try sexual offenses against children, more than two lakh POCSO cases are currently pending. Such severe delays in case resolution have become an unintended blessing for offenders. Only when swift punishments are imposed on the guilty can victims receive proper protection. From time to time, police take into custody those who harass women in public spaces. Alarmingly, a large number of them turn out to be minors—highlighting the urgent need for moral education. True empowerment of women will be possible only when progressive ideas—that boys and girls are equals—gain recognition and respect in every household.
