Every year on August 12th, International youth day is observed to increase understanding of the obstacles and concerns encountered by young individuals worldwide, and to advocate for their untapped capabilities.The significance of International Youth Day lies in its recognition of the crucial role that youth play as the foundation of the world. Their vigour, adaptability, and unwavering commitment possess the capacity to instigate constructive transformations, whether on a global scale or within local communities.
The day also acknowledges the challenges faced by them, and concentrates on efforts to eliminate the issues. A lot of contribution is made by young people towards community development, in protection of environment and volunteering on various social projects.
The International Youth Day focuses on the difficulties experienced by the youths throughout the world. Most children are deprived of basic education and suffer from hunger and poverty which is a hindrance towards their growth. To secure their future so that they grow into becoming promising youths, steps need to be taken now. The day calls everyone to join the efforts of United Nation and help it achieve its Sustainable Development Goals.
History
International Youth Day was first celebrated on August 12, 2000, and since then, the day has been used to educate the general public. The day was established when the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth recommended it to the UN General Assembly on December 17, 1999. In 1965, the United Nations General Assembly started working actively to educate and inspire youngsters. They approved the declaration promoting the values of peace, respect for others, and intercultural understanding.

అంతర్జాతీయ యువజన దినోత్సవం
సంపన్న దేశాలతో పోల్చితే ఇండియా ఇంకా అభివృద్ధి చెందిన దేశంగా మారకపోవచ్చు. కానీ.. సగర్వంగా తలెత్తుకునే స్థితిలో ఉంది. కారణం యువత. ఏ దేశంలోనైనా యువత ఉంటే చాలు.. గుండెలపై చెయ్యి వేసుకొని ప్రశాంతంగా ఉండొచ్చు. యువత లేని దేశం కష్టాల్లో ఉన్నట్లే. ఉదాహరణకు జపాన్ లో యువత కొరత విపరీతంగా ఉంది. దానికి తోడు ముసలివారి సంఖ్య చాలా ఎక్కువగా ఉంది. అందుకే ఆ దేశంలో ఇప్పుడు ఎన్నో సమస్యలున్నాయి. యూత్ సంఖ్యను పెంచడం వారి వల్ల కావట్లేదు. చైనాలోనూ ఇదే స్థితి. ఎక్కువ మంది పిల్లల్ని కనమని ప్రభుత్వం చెబుతుంటే… ప్రజలు మాత్రం ఒకరు చాలు… ఎక్కువ మందిని పోషించేంత సీన్ మాకు లేదు అంటున్నారు. మరి అక్కడ నిత్యవసరాల ధరలు అలా ఉన్నాయి. పాకిస్థాన్లో యువత బాగానే ఉన్నా… వారిని ఆ దేశం సరైన దారిలో నడిపించలేకపోతోంది. పాలకులకే ఓ విజన్ లేనప్పుడు… పాకిస్థాన్ యువత మాత్రం ఏం చేస్తారు? శ్రీలంకలో యువత పవర్ ఏంటో ఈమధ్యే చూపించారు కదా. అదే మరి యూత్ అంటే. యువత ఎక్కడ ఉంటే.. అక్కడ ఏదైనా సాధ్యమే. మరి ఇవాళ అంతర్జాతీయ యువజన దినోత్సవం. యూత్ నిజంగా ఇవాళ చేసుకోవాలి పార్టీలు.
చరిత్ర మామూలుగా లేదు (International Youth Day History)
ప్రతీ తరాన్ని ముందుకు నడిపించేది యువ శక్తే. ఈ విషయాన్ని గుర్తిస్తూ… 1999 లో ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి (United Nations) చర్చించింది. 2000 సంవత్సరంలో వేసవిలో మొదటి అంతర్జాతీయ యువత దినోత్సవం జరిగింది. ఈ రోజున అంతర్జాతీయంగా దేశాలన్నీ యువతకు ఏం కావాలో ఆలోచించి, ఆచరణలో పెట్టాలి. ఊరికే హామీలు ఇచ్చి చేతులు దులుపుకుంటే కుదరదు. అలాంటి పాలకులకు ఎన్నికలు రాగానే బుద్ధి చెబుతున్నారు యూత్. ఇవాళ స్థానికంగా యువత నడిపించే సంస్థల్ని నేతలు ఎంకరేజ్ చెయ్యాలి. యువతను మెచ్చుకోవాలి. అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాల్లో వారు పాలుపంచుకునేలా చెయ్యాలి. యువత ఆశయాల సాధన దిశగా సరైన అడుగులు పడాలి.
