వైకుంఠ ఏకాదశి (Vaikuntha Ekadashi) హిందూ మతంలో అత్యంత పవిత్రమైన రోజుగా పరిగణించబడుతుంది. ఈ రోజున శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు భక్తులకు మోక్షద్వారం అయిన ఉత్తర ద్వారం (Uttara Dwaram) ద్వారా వైకుంఠ లోకానికి ప్రవేశం కల్పిస్తాడని విశ్వాసం ఉంది. ఈ దర్శనాన్ని వైకుంఠ ద్వార దర్శనం అని కూడా అంటారు.

డిసెంబర్ 30 , 2025 (మంగళవారం)
పరాణ కాలం: డిసెంబర్ 31 ఉదయం వరకు ఉంటుంది.
తెలుగురాష్ట్రాల్లోని ప్రముఖ ఆలయాలు — తిరుమల శ్రీ వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామి ఆలయం, శ్రీ రంగనాథ స్వామి దేవాలయం (శ్రీరంగం), యాదాద్రి లక్ష్మీనరసింహ స్వామి ఆలయం మొదలైన చోట్ల ఈ రోజున అత్యంత భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో ఉత్తర ద్వార దర్శనం ఏర్పాటు చేస్తారు.
ఉత్తర ద్వార దర్శనం ప్రత్యేకత:
- సాధారణంగా ఆలయ ద్వారం తూర్పు లేదా దక్షిణ దిశలో తెరుస్తారు.
- కానీ ఈ రోజున ప్రత్యేకంగా ఉత్తర ద్వారం తెరిచే ఆచారం ఉంది.
- భక్తులు ఈ ద్వారం గుండా ప్రవేశించడం వలన వైకుంఠ ప్రాప్తి (Heavenly Liberation) లభిస్తుందని నమ్మకం.
- ఇది పాప విమోచన దినంగా కూడా పరిగణించబడుతుంది.
పూజా విధానం (పూజా క్రమం):
- తెల్లవారుజామున స్నానం చేసి శుద్ధ వస్రాలు ధరించాలి.
- శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు లేదా శ్రీ వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామి ప్రతిమను పూజించాలి.
- “ఓం నమో నారాయణాయ” మంత్రాన్ని జపిస్తూ ఉపవాసం చేయాలి.
- విష్ణు సహస్రనామం పారాయణం చేయడం, ఆలయ దర్శనం చేయడం శుభప్రదం.
- రాత్రి జాగరణా (జాగరించడం) చేస్తే పుణ్యఫలం మరింత పెరుగుతుంది.
ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రాముఖ్యత:
వైకుంఠ ఏకాదశి నాడు ఉత్తర ద్వారం ద్వారా దర్శనం పొందిన భక్తులు సర్వ దుష్కృతాల నుండి విముక్తి పొందుతారని పురాణాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. ఇది మానవ జీవితానికి మోక్ష మార్గాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది. శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు కృపతో ధార్మిక చింతన, భక్తి, మరియు శాంతి మనుసులో స్థిరపడతాయి.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a highly sacred festival celebrated by Hindus, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On this day, the Uttara Dwaram (Northern Gate) of the temple — also known as the Vaikuntha Dwaram — is opened for devotees. Passing through this gate is believed to symbolize entering the gates of Vaikuntha (the heavenly abode of Vishnu).

Parana (Fast Ending): Morning of December 31, 2025.
Temples such as Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple, Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple in Srirangam, and Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple witness lakhs of devotees on this auspicious day for the Uttara Dwara Darshanam.
Special Significance of Uttara Dwaram:
- The North Gate is opened only once a year on Vaikuntha Ekadashi.
- Entering through this gate signifies liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
- Devotees believe that this darshan grants blessings, peace, and moksha (salvation).
- This day is also known as Mokshada Ekadashi, the “giver of liberation.”
Puja Vidhi and Practices:
- Take a holy bath early in the morning and wear clean clothes.
- Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with flowers, tulasi leaves, and devotion.
- Chant “Om Namo Narayanaya” and recite Vishnu Sahasranama.
- Observe fasting and engage in prayers and meditation.
- Visit the temple to have the sacred Uttara Dwara Darshanam.
Spiritual Importance:
Vaikuntha Ekadashi represents spiritual awakening and divine liberation. The Uttara Dwara symbolizes the gateway to Vaikuntha, reminding devotees of the eternal path of dharma and devotion. Fasting, prayer, and darshan on this day are said to remove all sins and lead to eternal bliss.
