National Girl Child Day is celebrated on January 24 every year in India. The day was an initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 2008. The purpose of this day is to spread awareness about the gender based discriminations that girls face in our society and to bring change in the attitude towards girls.
The day is marked by various events and campaigns on ‘Save the Girl Child’, child sex ratios, and creating a healthy and safe environment for every girl child.
ప్రతి సంవత్సరం… జనవరి 24న భారతదేశం “జాతీయ బాలికా దినోత్సవం” (National Girl Child Day) జరుపుతోంది. మన సమాజంలో బాలికలు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న సమస్యల్ని పరిష్కరిస్తూ… బాలురు, బాలికల మధ్య అసమానతలను దూరంచేసేలా ప్రజల్లో అవగాహన కలిగించేందుకు జరుపుతున్నదే ఈ ప్రత్యేక దినోత్సవం. కేంద్ర మహిళా, శిశు సంక్షేమ శాఖ… ఈ దినోత్సవాన్ని ఘనంగా నిర్వహిస్తోంది. ఈ సందర్భంగా బాలికలకు ఉండే హక్కులు, విద్య, ఆరోగ్యం, పోషకాహారం వంటి అంశాలపై అవగాహన కలిగిస్తూ… దేశంలో బాలికలను ముందుకు నడిపించేందుకు గట్టిగా ప్రయత్నిస్తోంది.
జాతీయ బాలికా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా… దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. అవగాహనా సదస్సులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. అలాగే… బాలికల సంఖ్యను పెంచేందుకు ఏం చెయ్యాలో వివరిస్తున్నారు. బాలికలకు తగిన రక్షణ, ఆరోగ్యకర వాతావరణం కలిగించేందుకు ఎలాంటి చర్యలు చేపట్టాలో చర్చిస్తున్నారు.
